Feb2011

Your Great-Grandpa Tommy who your middle name came from LOVES to come over and hold you. You always sleep on his shoulder and you both take a nap, here it looks like both the girls were tired too!

Feb.2011

Milk day! The day mommy's milk came in...Jack was a happy camper! You love love love to nurse and eat all day. You've already grown 2 inches and gained 2 lbs. and your almost 1 month. Lila always is by our side especially when your nursing or if someone new is holding you.

Feb.2011

When you came in the middle of one of the biggest ice storms to hit Indy, everyone was calling you Jack Frost. Grammy even bought you the Jack Frost book and bought some snowflakes for your nursery. You will learn that she has some crazy ideas, today she made Pat collect icicles from when we brought you home...yes they are in our freezer right now.

Today is Mommy's 29th birthday! I can't believe this is my last year in my 20s. I have a feeling this is going to be the best year yet because of you! Today we aren't doing much, Daddy's off work and I actually got some sleep last night. Daddy got me a beautiful ring as a push/birthday/anniversary gift so I'm getting that sized to fit :) For my birthday post I'm going to post a few pictures from previous dates that I've found and got unorganized in the chaos of bringing a new baby home~~but here's some pictures that made me smile! This is our house when we brought you home! I know we probably won't be able to stay in this house forever, especially if we have more children but I love the way it looks in the snow :)

Oh Jack why must you love sleeping on your belly? You make me so nervous! Babies are supposed to sleep on their back to prevent SIDS and for some reason you LOVE to be on your belly especially on your belly and laying on top of us.

2-21-11

Yay! Your back to our happy baby Jack. The gas has gotten better and I think your still going through a growth spurt because you are eating like crazy. Today was a great Monday because your Daddy didn't have to work! It's always more fun when dad gets to spend some time with you. Usually he is at work until late and we've had alot of visitors so he doesn't get to hold and play with you very often. Here you are listening to Bob Marley and playing with Mom and Dad.

2-20-11

Oh my little grouchy man! It was a rough weekend. You had LOTS of gas and also are going through a growth spurt. You were nursing about every 45 minutes and were an unhappy camper! Today the Rooney's came over and you got to see Grandpa Rooney for the first time since you were born because he has been sick. I think you enjoyed the visitors, but wanted to make sure your food was right there when you wanted it.

2-17-11

My sleepy little boy! You are exhausted, we had a break in the weather so we have been trying to get out and walk with you and dogs. You sleep with your paci while nice and warm in your stroller and the dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE finally getting to run around! I can't wait until the weather clears so we can go play outside!

Jack you have all of us wrapped around your little finger, but one person is really *OBSESSED* with you! Papaw Duncan loves to hold you, sing to you, and talk to you. Last night he came over for hours and watched basketball with you while I cleaned and your Dad got work done. You already have a basketball and you're only 2 weeks old! If he's ever even near our house he will stop in and see "Papaw's Boy".

2-15-11

The rest of your newborn pictures came in today. I'm in trouble because I love love love all of them! I'm so excited to see them framed and on our walls...now deciding which ones is going to be very difficult!

All of my world in one photograph!! Daddy loves you so much. I have a feeling I'm going to be the "mean one" because everytime I try to get you up to feed you, clean you, change your diaper he doesn't want you to have to go through it. He would sleep all night like this if I let him!

2-14-11

Two years ago today we got married!!! I married my best friend and couldn't ask for a better partner through all of this. Your daddy has been so helpful and my support through labor, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and stress. I'm so proud of our little family! Tonight gammy and papa Duncan came over and watched you while we ran to get ice cream. I was a nervous anxious wreck so we did quick ice cream instead of dinner. I'm still trying to exclusively nurse so you don't get confused so it's hard to time out when you'll nurse again. I made a "just in case" bottle but wasn't even sure if you'd take it. When we got home you were happy and just fine! They actually gave you the bottle and you did great drinking it!

2-13-11

Your watcher and guardian Lila usually is able to get to you if your crying before I can. She loves and adores you and sometimes wants to kiss you too much. Sometimes Daddy lets her wake you up by licking your little feet! Today was a rough day, last night you were up all night eating, once I looked online it seems day 10 is common for a growth spurt and nonstop nursing is common....you were satisfied but mommy was EXHAUSTED. Aunt Melinda was going to come down and babysit you, but I was worried that you were going to be too hungry! Thankfully it was only at night that the crazy feeding happened!

2-12-11

I think you store milk in those chipmunk cheeks!!! I'm so happy you are doing great with breastfeeding and gaining weight like crazy!

2-11-11

My MONKEY! When I would scan you in the womb you would always have your hands up by your face but your feet bunched up and together. Today you still like to sit like a lil monkey like you did in my belly. You love to have your feet pattycaked together :)

2-10-11

I love love love the priceless looks you give your mommy after feedings. You love to eat and after eating you are such a HAPPY BOY! You just might like eating more than your momma!

2-9-11

Today you had your first photo session with Sara-beth photography! These are her sneak peek pictures and I can't stop staring at them. You did such a good job even though you wanted to be awake when they wanted you to sleep. The did the shoot in our living room and Sarah loved snuggling with you. I absolutely love these pictures and can't believe how quickly you are changing. I love love love your crazy hair!

2-8-11

Our first day by ourselves. Daddy had to go to work today and we did great on our own! This is probably my favorite picture of you so far! I love your facial expressions and you have SUCH a personality and you're not even a week old! The Durrett's got you this adorable outfit and Jenny even came over to see you!

2-7-11

Throughout the weekend you had SO many visitors! You also got some great gifts. You are such a loved little boy!!!

2-6-11

Your first sponge bath....not a happy camper. We can only give you sponge baths until your circumcision and cord heal and you do not like it at all, but loved getting your hair washed.

2-5-11

Jack, your furbaby sisters are so protective of you already and get very antsy when I shut the doggie gate to your room. They also love to snuggle in bed with daddy and you.

2-4-11

On Friday night we were discharged from the hospital! All of Jack's tests came back normal and great! Aunt Melinda was there to help us get to the car and figure out Jack's carseat. Once we got home Lila and Pearl were very excited to meet their brother and did such a great job meeting him. They missed us so much!

1-3-11

Today we spent the day getting to know our son! We had many visitors and are surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family! We started breastfeeding and poor Jack got circumsized and was not a happy camper!

2-1-11

In the middle of the sleet and emergency road closures Jack decided to make his grand entrance in a hurry!! He was born 5:29pm 7lbs 4 oz 20 in long :). This is officially the best day of our lives!

2-1-11

Today a major ice storm hit Indy. I actually stayed home from work because of it. Roads were shut down and a sheet of ice coated Indy. The weather was only supposed to get worse so I was going to stay at home Tuesday also, being 9 months pregnant it was too risky. Little did I know what would happen in the middle of this ice storm!
