Ohhh the many faces of Jack Rooney. You go from smiling to seriously wanting to nurse so quickly. You love to eat and I love nursing you. It's a bond that I hope will continue for a while!

Lila is your side kick. Wherever you go, she goes. She would kiss you all day if I let her. She runs to your cries before I even realize your waking from a nap. She worries about you when you sick and loves to watch you play on your playmats. I was so worried about Lila bean being jealous and who knew she'd be your protector!

I know me and daddy complain about the 1,000 diapers, but I love every minute of our changing table happy times. You love to have your diaper changed, you love to just lay and listen to me sing. You kick your feet and wiggle your toes!

Tummy sleeping is sooo cozy! Too bad Dr. Hodson says it's a nono until you can roll over! Until then I'll let you atleast nap this way because you sleep so much better. I think it helps your gas and reflux.

Aunt Dana came to visit you today. She is very nervous and anxious around babies and usually never holds them, but SHE HELD YOU! Well she held you until you got the hiccups, passed you to your mommy and then wanted you back.

Today you met your Great Grandparents on Pat's mom's side. They were on their way to Florida and stopped in to see you. They were very excited to meet you, even though you weren't feeling very well. Hopefully next time they visit you'll be feeling much better!

Sick baby and messy house ALERT! You've been stuffy and fussy and wailing and that is totally not the normal Jack we know...sure enough you had a fever and your sick. It's been a long week because my milk supply decreased, so today we went to a lactation consultant and also the pediatrician. You have an upper respiratory cold virus, Dr. Hodson said there's not much we can do for a newborn, but to call if you get worse. Unfortunately your cold lasted a while..over 10 days and you started to get worse before you got better. Poor little man I hate seeing you like this!
HAIR!!
Your hair after bathtime is HILARIOUS. It sticks straight up! Lila likes to be right at my feet wherever we are going!
New bath tub
So, we got another bath tub, because we thought you were getting too cold in the other and you somewhat liked it! Of course you had a few screams to let us know you weren't too happy, but it wasn't as bad! The only part of the bath you really like is getting your hair washed!
3-1-11 Tummy Time
You LOVE tummytime! So does Lila...she thinks the playmat is for her. You kick your legs and even get over the little pillow by kicking at 4 weeks :). Eventually you tire out and want to be held, but we try to do this atleast once a day to build you neck muscles up.
1st Bath
Well your first bath after your cord/circumcision was horrible! We used a bathmat that you hated and you screamed the whole time~obviously. We bought another bath tub after this and you are SOO MUCH happier in that. You still aren't very fond of bathtime but we have become very quick at bathtime and make sure we have everything prepared before little Jack even gets wet.
Daddy goes to work
Your dad has been working hard for us! He went back to work 3 days after you were brought home because his firm was very busy that week. We did great at home without him and send picture texts throughout the day on what we're up to at home.

Off to your first Doctor's appointment! You love your carseat...well once your in it and we are carrying you. You hate sitting still so daddy usually rocks/carries your carseat around and you'll stay content. We go to Dr. Hodson and she is also James' pediatrician. She was very sweet and gave us so much encouragement to continue breastfeeding and that you were perfect and doing great!! Everyone had to take a peek at you and just loved your crazy hair! We actually got to skip our next two appointments because your weight increase was so great!

Your Great-Grandpa Tommy who your middle name came from LOVES to come over and hold you. You always sleep on his shoulder and you both take a nap, here it looks like both the girls were tired too!

Milk day! The day mommy's milk came in...Jack was a happy camper! You love love love to nurse and eat all day. You've already grown 2 inches and gained 2 lbs. and your almost 1 month. Lila always is by our side especially when your nursing or if someone new is holding you.

When you came in the middle of one of the biggest ice storms to hit Indy, everyone was calling you Jack Frost. Grammy even bought you the Jack Frost book and bought some snowflakes for your nursery. You will learn that she has some crazy ideas, today she made Pat collect icicles from when we brought you home...yes they are in our freezer right now.

Today is Mommy's 29th birthday! I can't believe this is my last year in my 20s. I have a feeling this is going to be the best year yet because of you! Today we aren't doing much, Daddy's off work and I actually got some sleep last night. Daddy got me a beautiful ring as a push/birthday/anniversary gift so I'm getting that sized to fit :) For my birthday post I'm going to post a few pictures from previous dates that I've found and got unorganized in the chaos of bringing a new baby home~~but here's some pictures that made me smile! This is our house when we brought you home! I know we probably won't be able to stay in this house forever, especially if we have more children but I love the way it looks in the snow :)

Oh Jack why must you love sleeping on your belly? You make me so nervous! Babies are supposed to sleep on their back to prevent SIDS and for some reason you LOVE to be on your belly especially on your belly and laying on top of us.

Yay! Your back to our happy baby Jack. The gas has gotten better and I think your still going through a growth spurt because you are eating like crazy. Today was a great Monday because your Daddy didn't have to work! It's always more fun when dad gets to spend some time with you. Usually he is at work until late and we've had alot of visitors so he doesn't get to hold and play with you very often. Here you are listening to Bob Marley and playing with Mom and Dad.

Oh my little grouchy man! It was a rough weekend. You had LOTS of gas and also are going through a growth spurt. You were nursing about every 45 minutes and were an unhappy camper! Today the Rooney's came over and you got to see Grandpa Rooney for the first time since you were born because he has been sick. I think you enjoyed the visitors, but wanted to make sure your food was right there when you wanted it.

My sleepy little boy! You are exhausted, we had a break in the weather so we have been trying to get out and walk with you and dogs. You sleep with your paci while nice and warm in your stroller and the dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE finally getting to run around! I can't wait until the weather clears so we can go play outside!

Jack you have all of us wrapped around your little finger, but one person is really *OBSESSED* with you! Papaw Duncan loves to hold you, sing to you, and talk to you. Last night he came over for hours and watched basketball with you while I cleaned and your Dad got work done. You already have a basketball and you're only 2 weeks old! If he's ever even near our house he will stop in and see "Papaw's Boy".
